Hosted and delivered by TU Dublin, and proudly sponsored by AIB, the Self Employment for People with Disabilities programme is about breaking down barriers and ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, has access to the skills and support needed to become successful entrepreneurs.
The programme is open to anyone who self-identifies as having a disability and wishes to start their own business. It is not suitable for someone who has already started their own business or wants to learn about entrepreneurship. It requires participants to have a business idea they wish to evaluate as a sustainable enterprise.
The programme has already seen remarkable success in the Republic of Ireland with several participants having already begun the journey of launching their own start-ups, ranging from innovative products to creative enterprises. Their success underscores the importance of programs like this in making entrepreneurship accessible to all, with over 90% of participants each year stating that they feel more empowered to re-enter the labour market after completing the programme.
As the programme is significantly oversubscribed each year, early applications are advised.
