Government officials visit Cassidy Hospitality Group on Northern Ireland tour
Leading Co Fermanagh hospitality business Cassidy Hospitality Group has found the recipe for success as it continues to expand after receiving assistance from the Go Succeed business support service.
The business played host to a visit by representatives of the government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which recently backed the Go Succeed service with a new £9.2 million funding commitment.
Cassidy Hospitality Group, which operates some of the county’s best-known hospitality venues including Westville Hotel, Gourmet Grocer Shop & Cafe, and The Firehouse Bar & Grill, received mentorship and grant funding from Go Succeed as it continues to grow and enhance its hospitality offering.
Officials from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) visited the company’s Gourmet Grocer outlet on a tour of Go Succeed success stories.
They were joined at Gourmet Grocer by Councillor Barry McElduff, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.
Speaking on behalf of Go Succeed, Councillor McElduff said:
“Cassidy Hospitality Group is a tremendous example of the kind of innovation and drive that we are seeing in the hospitality sector across the Fermanagh and Omagh district.
“We are very proud to play our part in delivering Go Succeed locally and to see the impact that it is having in helping businesses to grow, invest in their teams, and improve their offering to customers.”
Nicky Cassidy, CEO, Cassidy Hospitality Group, said:
“Go Succeed came along at the perfect time for our business. The mentoring helped us take a step back and look at how we could operate more strategically across our group, particularly with regards to streamlining our customer experience and enhancing operational efficiency.
“The funding support we received has allowed us to invest in areas that directly benefit our customers and our staff, and we’re already seeing the positive impact across the business.”
The recent financial backing for Go Succeed from UKSPF was secured following the collaborative effort and support of Northern Ireland’s 11 councils who continue to deliver the service which first launched in November 2023.
Minister for Local Growth, Alex Norris said:
“Our UK Shared Prosperity Fund is boosting businesses across the country, and Cassidy Hospitality Group is a great example of this in action.
“The funding we have provided through Go Succeed has helped the company invest and grow – meaning more success for the firm, and more jobs and opportunities too.”
Chris Taylor, Head of UKSPF Northern Ireland, added:
“It’s fantastic to see how Go Succeed is making a difference on the ground for ambitious, high-quality and highly ambitious businesses like Cassidy Hospitality Group.
“This visit has highlighted the value of tailored support for growing companies, from mentoring through to grant funding, and how that can contribute to long-term sustainability and success in our local communities.”
